Review: The Range Vintage Trailer Resort
Dallas leaves a lot to be desired in terms of beautiful camping locations. June 4 was the official opening weekend for The Range Vintage Trailer Resort, and we made sure to book the first chance we could get in.
There are two ways to make your temporary home on The Range. If you have your own Airstream or vintage trailer, you can hook up just like any other standard site. As I am a #vanlifer, I didn’t have either, so I chose to rent one of their furnished trailers.
When we pulled up to the Range (Bristol, TX - about 30 minutes from Downtown Dallas), Sarah, the owner, met us at the gate with a huge smile. She escorted us to our home for the weekend. The kid and I stayed in the turquoise Shasta which Sarah described as “Kacey Musgraves dream come true”. I opened the door to the camper and heard the loudest squeal I’ve heard in a while. It was like stepping into a really tasteful girly dream. I would have been content just hanging out in our trailer playing games for the weekend, but there was so much to explore. We walked around the property and hung out with the nicest Airstreamers in the shade of the barn. Saturday night, they had a campfire with one guest playing guitar under the string lights. We were only 10 minutes from Galaxy Drive In Theater, so we drove over to catch Trolls: World Tour and scarf down a funnel cake. We hung out with the goats on property, said hi to the horses next door, played a million rounds of Go Fish, and basically the most pure, magical weekend we’ve had in a while.
The Range is a gem. The first month is completely booked out. I can only guess it is half due to the fact that it’s gorgeous and so meticulously built, and half because the moment you visit their website or interact on social media, you feel like family. All the guests kept talking about how “at home” they felt on The Range. We will be back, and I have a feeling repeat guests will be the norm for Sarah and the rest of the team! @therangeresort
